While photo-realistic graphics can be breathtakingly beautiful, they require huge amounts of resources to render and a lot of effort to create. Low-poly on the other side, can be extremely resource-efficient while looking just as pleasant. The simplistic, clean aesthetics leave room for your imagination to fill in what was purposely omitted.
I always admired artists and animators for their ability to evoke feelings of awe. This project was the perfect opportunity to try it for myself.
I couldn’t resist trying to add laser-blades to the Katana, making it a Yedi-Samurai.
Inspiration for this project came from the awesome work of Jona Dinges, especially his Ronin.
